➤ Grasslands are big open spaces in which vegetation is dominated by a nearly continuous cover of grass .
➤Soil is very fertile & few trees and herbs grow here
➤ In North America, the grasslands are called prairies
➤ Rainy season as well as a season of drought every year
➤ Large herds of grazing mammals such as deer, giraffe, elephants, lions, tigers, hyenas, zebras, bison & ostrich found here

➤ Extreme heat and dryness
➤ Very little or no rainfall
➤ Days are very hot, while the nights are very cold
