Q. 7 ) Case Study :

The Deccan Plateau lies to the south of the Satpura Range and the Narmada River. The Deccan Plateau is bordered on either side by the Eastern Ghats and the Western Ghats. The Eastern and the Western Ghats meet each other at the Nilgiri hill. This plateau covers the states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Anaimudi, the highest peak of the peninsular region, is situated on the Deccan plateau. Rivers like Mahanadi, Godavari, Kaveri, Krishna, Narmada and Tapi originates in this area. The Jog falls in Karnataka, is the highest waterfall in our country and lies in this plateau region.
